Matthew Woodall is a Director within the global Energy, Utilities and Natural Resources practice. He brings over 20 years’ of search experience across the energy ecosystem and its extended supply chain, partnering with organisations on executive search and leadership strategy.
Matthew’s expertise spans offshore wind, onshore renewables, hydropower, transmission and distribution, long‑duration storage (including hydrogen and battery technologies), power generation, and energy retail. He also works across industrial and manufacturing segments that enable the energy transition, including advanced EV technologies, grid equipment, cable and component manufacturing, and related advanced manufacturing and technology sectors.
He has lived and worked across Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia, building his career within local energy markets and becoming fully embedded in the industries, cultures, and leadership environments of each region. He has partnered with utilities, developers, investors, network operators, OEMs, and industrial innovators, giving him a global perspective on energy markets, leadership challenges, and cross‑cultural collaboration.
Matthew holds a degree in Applied Economics and Languages, reflecting his analytical and international outlook. Outside of work, he is passionate about sport, running, and music.
